Wilderness Helicopters was founded in 1995 by Blair Mills, Peter Moore and Trevor Laing.  Located in Wawa, Ontario at the Northeast corner of Lake Superior, we are centrally located for work anywhere in Northern Ontario.  The fleet began with a Jet Ranger in 1995, then added a Long Ranger -LR in 1998.  A Long Ranger -L3 was added in the spring of 2000 and a full-time base was opened in Marathon, Ontario.  In the summer of 2002, Wilderness acquired another Jet Ranger and a base in Chapleau. The spring of 2003 saw the company add a Long Ranger L1-C30, bringing the fleet to a total of 5 helicopters.  During 2004, Wilderness moved into an all Long Ranger fleet, selling the 2 Jet Rangers and adding another 206 L3.  In the summer of 2008 we added a Long Ranger L4 to the fleet to bring us up to the current fleet of 5 Bell Long Rangers.
